Lace up for Nexus in the Belfast Marathon

We are looking for individuals and teams to lace up their trainers on Monday 7th May and get involved in the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon in aid of Nexus NI. There is an event and distance to suit all abilities from the full 26.2 mile marathon to 3-7mile legs of the team relay or an 8 mile walk. This is a great way to raise funds for our charity, while taking on a personal challenge or getting out with family, friends or colleagues to pound the pavements and soak up the atmosphere.  Our Community Fundraising Lead, Karen Dunlop-Wainwright is taking on her first ever marathon and is calling for people to join her this May Day to raise both funds and awareness for Nexus. Commenting on the event, Karen…

A brilliant birthday fundraiser for Nexus!

One of the founding members of our Client Forum, Sharon Henry, recently used her 50th birthday celebrations as a special way to raise funds for our work by foregoing gifts and asking instead for charitable donations. Sharon’s kind gesture has helped to raise a fantastic sum of £400! Commenting on her fundraising efforts, Sharon said: “As a member of the Nexus Client Forum, I’m very aware of the fantastic and life-saving work that they do for women, men and children all across Northern Ireland. Nexus currently has more than 600 people on its waiting list and I wanted to do whatever I could to help.
